Out West Trip - 2021

Around this time last year, Dakota and I were preparing to leave for what we called our “Out West Trip”; our first time on a plane since before COVID started. We actually were supposed to go on this trip in 2020 but had to cancel it like many others. I remember being so nervous for the airport and plane, trying to remember all the steps we had to take. The anticipation of going through security, hoping that we didn’t have any delays, and I especially was worried about driving in Last Vegas once we had arrived. Nonetheless, we were able to put those nerves aside and we were ready to explore five different National Parks, some of which would become our new favorites.

We had a wonderful trip, that was filled with laughter, adventure, and a flat tire in the Mojave Desert?... Certainly, we did not expect for that to happen.

Because we spent a week packed-full of exploring, we’re going to break up our trip into several blog posts over the next few weeks. Here are some highlights you can expect to read more about:

  • Dakota being in the news in Las Vegas, Nevada

  • Celebrating Dakota’s Birthday in the Grand Canyon

  • Visiting one of our now top five favorite National Parks; Bryce Canyon

  • Zion & Great Basin National Parks

  • The hottest place in the world; Death Valley National Park

  • Last but not least, our infamous flat tire story

Throughout this trip we learned a lot of traveling tips that we are looking forward to sharing with you. We think about this trip all the time, and we are longing to go back Out West. There is so much to be explored out there!

Check back with us next week, and we will get things started in Sin City!

If you can't find us at home, you may just find us in Bryce Canyon National Park!
